post your secret...

i hadn't been on PostSecret for a while...not sure what reminded me of but thought i'd have a wander over and have a look. i love the idea, sharing a secret anonymously through a postcard sized piece of art. and i would love to be the post person who gets to deliver all those postcards, that's a pretty interesting batch of post!

i can imagine that sharing a postcard secret is hugely liberating....but also really scary too. i've thought about sending in secrets, i have a few i would like to 'share'. but they are secrets that i've almost hidden from myself and i think it would take quite a lot of thinking about the secret to get it onto a postcard...thinking that i'm not sure i'm quite ready to do yet. maybe it's more the thinking than the sharing that's putting me off, the sharing is fine, it's getting it out in the first place.

like this one. i wonder if it hurt to write that. i wonder if they had to admit to themselves what they had been doing and if it made them reflect on it, likely in a really uncomfortable and painful way?...
