making an impression: awesome business cards...
i know a lot of us bloggers are also crafty types, often with a penchant for paper goods, and often looking for creative ways to help spread the word about our crafts. so...thought i would share these rather gorgeous business cards that i stumbled across over at webdesigner depot. moo cards are pretty fab so far as business cards go (and not just for business cards, i'm rather pleased with the collage i created) but the cards below have something extra special about them. i'm rather inspired to make some actual handmade business cards, i particularly like the kraft paper and corrugated cards below, and the wax seal is just genious!

You could always have a calling card....or maybe a blog card?! I met a girl once who had a business style calling card that she handed out to new people she met. Pretty sure she wasn't a lady of the night..... ;D
wow, great examples. I might be a little biased because I'm a graphic designer. But think about if you have a stack of cards. The ones that are a unique shape or material are totally going to stand out.
I can think of cards that I got years ago that are still memorable. I love collecting cool cards. Great post!

Another graphic designer who is completely unbiased - ahem - I think they are essential. That may also be because I am shocking at remembering names and details. A business card that stands out for me was one I saw a decade ago. Smallest scripty type:

These are all great ideas and unique but I wonder what someone does when they get one of these business cards, do they put them in their wallet as some may not fit???
that's funny tania - that reminds me of some cards i saw where corporate types had gone freelance and they were using their old business cards but had crossed out their old contact details and written their new ones of top (usually with an added note along the lines of 'out of the ratrace' or 'no more bullshit'). quite a funny way of doing a business card and a cv in one!
helenej - i guess it helps that i have a MASSIVE wallet, the size of a pencil case!

Wow! I wish I could make my own business cards or at least choose cool ones like these. Mine are zzzz zzzz zzz boring!
I love each an every design....now these "cards" would definately NOT be lost or misplaced.
