who wants free stuff?....

lovely song, beautiful animation, fabulous drawings...
the video is by katy davis at gobblynne animation - and i love the website...i'm all sorts of jealous of these skills. the gobblynne site is choc full of beautful images and animation pieces, i particularly like these below:
the combination of photo style images and drawing makes for a sweet, delicate and dreamy combination...you could almost imagine wandering up the hill to find this little cartoon house - all hansel and gretel.

the song is by bim - just brought the mini album of itunes, more dreamy loveliness with sounds of imogen heap, the good bits of jewel and the wonderfulness of lamb

become a superhero in 10 mins....

ok, so the matching bow and corset isn't a particularly fear inducing outfit, but it looks kinda cute. maybe i'm a geek, but i think this hero machine is pretty awesome. there are LOADS of different combinations to try out, last time i was celtic braveheart william wallis-esque lady and now i'm a little more catwalk meets curved sword things. i really really want to get everyone i know to make up one of these so i can turn them into top trump style cards....sounds like a moo card project to me!
not feeling like a superhero today? try out the rockstar, pin up and real life machines too - so let me see what you've got!
amd talking of heroes....am LOVING series 3 - where's it gonna go, what's going to happen, and who ARE the bad guys? have been pondering on what my real life super hero power would be... have always wanted to fly, but everybody wants that superpower, want something a little more unique...will have to think on this some more...

wish i could take photos like her...
i stumbled across jennipenni's photostream through the explore feature on flickr (perfect for whiling away an hour or so and finding stunning photographs). she is such as fab photographer - particularly her self portraits which are really beautiful and imaginative. i love how she has used colour - often in big bold blocks of space which generally contrast with the subject of the shot. if i was a better critic i would ramble on some more about why i think her photos are beautiful, unfortunately i'm not - so just take a look yourself and let me know if you see what i mean....Wednesday, 5 November 2008

i love industrial felt....
i stumbled across Josh Jakus treasure trove of felt design on www.lovelyshops.com. full of cute clutches, shoulder bags and these fab media holders (which would have been perfect when i was looking for iphone outfits).
these handmade felt vases by joshua stone are stunning. i love the traditional shapes with the use of felt - the designs do remind me of these paper sculptures, and bizarrely, my dyson hoover filter! love them very much though.
i've seen lots of fab industrial felt accessories, but look at these beautiful clothes made by paula vidal - the stitching is so pretty, would love this jacket in a plum colour or wintery grey.

i've been umming and ahhing about investing in some industrial felt from aetna who stock loads of chunky felt in a whole spectrum of delicious colours. but i know it'll sit on that pile that is growing daily - the 'one day i'll make something with this fabric' pile (you know you have one too!).
