parquet and a crazy day

i'm not very good at being spontaneous...i like plans, i like time to think, time to weigh up the options. so why have i just put down a deposit on the FIRST flat i saw today. epp - i'm freaking now!

the pretty parquet floor in the front room helps me feel less like i have made a crazy decision....

bonbi forest indie emporium

i was so pleased to receive an email from lee may at bonbi forest indie emporium saying that they would like to sell my designs in their fabulous store! first off, their website is lovely, secondly - lee may's t-shirts rock, and thirdly - she makes the official 'bat for lashes' merch - wowwee!

these designs and more should be appearing in the store within the next couple of weeks. in the mean time, you can find them in my etsy shop.

tagged thrice

hide n seek print: by hidenseek.etsy.com
my favourite games when i was a little 'un was 'polo', hide n seek and treasure hunts (hiding little fimo monsters and gems under logs, up trees, in bushes, under the dog) - but tag is the name of the game today. cheeky moocow, kittypinkstars and ally sneeked up on me when i was least expecting it and demanded that i tell 7 facts and peculiarities about myself...so here goes:

1: garlic and onions give me monster migraines...yes, it is a pain in the bottom to avoid these, but i have developed a rather fab onionless garlicless napoli sauce. worst thing is i looove garlic pizza bread :(

2: coca cola makes me high, or two cups or tea less than 3 hours apart....and i never drink red bull - palpitations ahoy!

3: i am tempted very regularly to dread my hair, then get scared that i would regret it

4: i laugh hysterically when people hurt themselves....it's very embarrassing and however much i try to hold it in i can't hide the tears and belly jigs. cripes, the grins are starting just thinking about it. and it's not that i find it funny honest - why why why?

5: i used to be a super fast sprinter when i was 14, beat all the boys too. 13 seconds dead for 100m. i've still got my spikes..sometimes i look at then and wished i hadn't given it up

6: i love the smell of glossy magazines and hate the smell of old yellowed books

7: i am told i look like an elf....i believe (hope) that is a compliment
(i'm meant to tag others now, but i think lots of people have been tagged - so, check out these lovely tagger's shops...and mine while you're at it):

well, i needed to treat myself...

i have rubbish teeth. i blame my mother. recovering from my RE root treatment - already had it done once, didn't work so had to have it done again...more concerned about the cost though, £900 eek! having panic attacks that my insurance wont cough up....but anywaaaay. to help overcome this experience (although to be fair i think i may have dozed off at one point) i wandered back to the tube via zara home and john lewis' haberdashery department..... isn't this condiment pot so pretty? i'm thinking maybe some nice chilli oil and some balsamic vinegar? lots of lovely white ceramics and silky throws at zara, perfect for my bedroom makeover that i hope to eventually get around to...one day.

and these little threads are for my new mushroom pins. in my prototype i used mint and cream thread, i was hoping for the detail to be subtle, but then changed my mind and thought it would be nice to have some bright contrast...

my new mushroom (toadstool? mushroom) pin is based on these fab illustrations that lovely Dawn drew up for me, designs which i hope will adorn some gocco'd cards that i hope to eventually get around to...one day.
